Siobhan Hutchinson, Chair of the National Qigong Association’s Research & Education Committee, introduces a new NQA blog series featuring video interviews with committee members. The series was developed in collaboration with the Web Communications Committee as a way to move beyond written articles and offer members a more engaging, personal way to get to know the people behind NQA’s research and educational efforts.
Paras Kaul, Deputy Chair of the NQA and Chair of the Web Communications Committee, explains that the goal of the series is to highlight the work of committee members, share their perspectives with the broader membership, and strengthen public education around Qigong. The video interviews will be featured on the NQA website under the Blog section in the spring.
Siobhan shares how she became involved with the NQA through a colleague and describes what excites her about the organization: its international community, the opportunity to learn from other teachers, and the growing importance of research and evidence-based education in Qigong practice. She emphasizes that research helps practitioners clearly explain the benefits of Qigong to increasingly informed clients.
The conversation also highlights additional educational resources on the NQA website, including the “What Is Qigong?” page and links to external research resources. Both speakers express enthusiasm for expanding public understanding of Qigong as a life-supporting practice and for continuing the interview series with more committee members.
