Qigong class series organized around a common theme. Each practice is a 60-minute balanced practice session drawing from moving, breathing and meditative practices. The theme of this series is Qigong healing sounds. This practice functions as a kind of massage for our organs. The vibrations we make with our own voice clear stuck energies from the organs, allowing them to function optimally. The practice is particularly effective at clearing stuck emotions, which are said to reside within the organs. The specific sounds I will offer are the ones I learned from my teacher John Munro of Long White Cloud Qigong. Classes are suitable to all abilities, all levels of experience, and all body/mind types. All practices are accessible standing, seated, lying down, or as intentional practice (without physical movement).

The 2nd Colorado Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Expo brings together practitioners, educators, healthcare professionals, wellness providers, community organizations, businesses, students, families, and the general public to explore Whole Person Health, prevention, healthy aging, and community wellness. This year’s Expo is presented under the theme of the Colorado Whole Person Health Initiative, a growing effort to connect healthcare, education, public health, community organizations, researchers, wellness professionals, and integrative health partners across Colorado. Whole Person Health recognizes that health is not only the absence of disease. It is shaped by lifestyle, emotional well-being, meaningful relationships, prevention, resilience, lifelong learning, purpose, and strong communities.

What is Qigong? How do we work with Qi (energy)? What role do the body, the mind and the breath play in Qigong practice? Let’s explore these questions in this foundational course about Qigong, an energy cultivation practice originating from ancient China. Each week, we will focus on one aspect or principle of practice, experiencing it in our body and developing greater skill with our energy. Layering our discoveries to the same simple, balanced Qigong practice set each week, we will gradually deepen our practice and receive more of its benefits. The format of the course will support you in developing a consistent Qigong practice. All practices are accessible from standing, seated, or even lying down positions (with modification). You are also welcome to practice intentionally (visualizing the movement). I invite you to join in on this journey, whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner wishing to circle back to the basics.

Join the TCHW team for this free 1 hour event on Zoom. We will explore both standing and seated the Metal Element Qigong and how the moves increases healthier lifestyle.
