The Immortal Sisters Foundation (immortalsisters.org) is hosting a special online benefit event on May 4, 2025, to bridge gaps and cultivate balance for women in Tai Chi and Qigong.
In the U.S., Tai Chi and Qigong communities reflect not only gender disparities but also significant economic and racial inequities. Many women face barriers such as income inequality and family obligations that limit their ability to practice. Participation is especially low in underserved communities, where these arts could have a life-changing impact.
The Immortal Sisters Foundation is dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive Tai Chi and Qigong community. We invite you to join our mission.
By making a tax-deductible donation to the May 4 event, you’ll receive:
Your support helps us:
Scholarships will be awarded through a careful application process to ensure they reach women deeply committed to these arts.

This is the updated Medical QiGong for Self Health course Weekend Retreat May 17th and 18th, 2025 For centuries, Medical Qigong has explored the unseen forces of life—Qi, breath, and intention—harnessing them for healing and vitality. I was taught in school that there were three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas. Modern physics is now catching up, recognizing the similarities between Qi and plasma, the fourth state of matter. What if the ancient and modern were speaking the same language? In Plasma Physics & Medical Qigong, we bridge these two worlds, not through complex instruments, but through direct experience. This weekend class invites you to feel, harness, and cultivate your energy using time-tested Qigong practices—now illuminated by the lens of plasma physics. What Is Plasma, and How Does It Relate to Qi? Plasma makes up 99% of the universe—from the sun’s energy to lightning, auroras, and even the ionized fields surrounding our bodies. It is dynamic, conductive, and responsive to electromagnetic forces. In Taoist terms, this is precisely how Qi behaves. Medical Qigong teaches that Qi can be gathered, directed, and projected for healing. Plasma physics shows us that ionized energy fields do the same. Both are influenced by intention, conductivity, and flow—the very essence of Qigong practice. What You Will Learn This weekend class is an experiential journey into the living science of energy. Instead of relying on external measuring tools, we will use our own bodies and awareness as instruments of perception. You will learn: How to Feel and Direct Qi as a Living Energy Develop your sensitivity to energy fields, much like plasma responds to electromagnetic forces. The Role of the Body as a Conductor Discover how posture, movement, and breath enhance the body’s ability to generate and sustain Qi flow. Plasma & Bioelectric Fields Understand how the body’s natural electromagnetic field interacts with the environment, much like plasma in the universe. Healing Applications of Plasma-Like Qi – Practice Medical Qigong techniques that enhance circulation, immunity, and overall vitality. Nature as a Living Energy System – Connect with natural sources of plasma energy, such as the atmosphere, sunlight, and the earth’s magnetic field. Who Should Attend? This workshop is designed for anyone seeking a deeper, more scientific yet experiential understanding of Qigong. Whether you are a Medical Qigong practitioner, healer, martial artist, or simply curious about energy cultivation, this class will provide new insights into your practice. Join Us for This Transformational Weekend No prior experience in physics or Qigong is required. This class is about direct experience—feeling the energy, expanding awareness, and unlocking the true potential of your Qi. If you’ve ever wondered how Qigong connects to the forces of nature and the cosmos, this is your chance to explore it firsthand. Join us for a weekend of deep exploration, practical training, and energetic transformation. This is a LIVE IN PERSON Course! For more than 23 years, the Taijiquan Enthusiasts Organization has been organizing, or helping others to organize, Tai Chi and Qigong Festivals and Symposiums. In 2023 we organized the Master Jou Birthday Celebration and Tai Chi Festival in Warwick New York, and it was a fantastic success! We liked the venue so much, we are moving from our normal Maris Stella Retreat Center in Harvey Cedars, NJ to the Warwick NY Mt. Lake Park from now on. And, of course, we will be expanding the event. We will be holding it from June 26 to June 30, 2025. and it will also be accessible as a hybrid event (portions online available everywhere via zoom). Included in the Festival will be intensives (half day or all day workshops) held by top Tai Chi and Qigong Leaders on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Then, on Friday, we will hold the Chang San-Feng Legacy Panels. This series of panels will allow students of several Great Grand Masters (such as Jou, Tsung-Hwa; Cheng, Man-ch'ing; B.P. Chan; Effie Chow; and Steve Higgins) to share the legacy of their teacher with a wider audience. Panels are already full for 2025, but contact us if you have an idea for a panel next year - we already have several great teachers we plan to honor next year. Contact Jeff Devlin at Festival@TaiChiFest.org for further information.
Practicing Qigong and Tai Chi outdoors brings me peace of mind, connection with nature and also a sense of reverence and awe. For these reasons I invite you to join me on a spiritual trip to Japan this Fall, where we will have the opportunity to practice in gorgeous gardens and temples. Highlights: We will meet up with local teachers and their students for cultural exchange and spend the at a temple, living with the monks. No experience necessary. To learn more about visiting the quiet side of Japan please visit https://spirit.tours/tour/japan-2/
The Doctorate in Medical Qigong is an accumulation of ancient shamanic and postmodern energetic practices utilized to improve health of body, mind and spirit. It includes the meditation and energy work of the human body sometimes called Study of Communicative Qi. This program continues to deeply explore the foundational principals of all Classical Chinese Medicine (pre-TCM), what healing truly is and the bedrock of how all communication occurs between the physical (Jing) and Spiritual (Shen) realms. Students will develop an advanced understanding of the body’s energetic relationship to the physical structure, including mental and emotional disorders, as well as spiritual issues that can lead to disease formation. Students at this level will choose a specific disorder or condition for their doctoral thesis, as they continue to study deeply in Dao Yin qigong for oncology and inflammation. Graduates are tested and all conditions of the program completed in order to receive their diploma.
Inner Strength’s curriculum is the longing continuously running program while simultaneously providing the most technologically advanced energetic healing system available for study in the 21st century. Curriculum: In addition to the robust classical Medical / Clinical QiGong system, we will be including Herbology as an adjunct to the Medical QiGong prescriptions for various imbalances PLUS medicinal food for rebalancing pathology. These three modalities provide the most powerful combination of healing available. Classical Medical QiGong consists of the oral traditions of Taoism and Buddhism as well as the inclusion of several key texts of healing. The Inner Strength curriculum includes the study of the classic books: The Huangdi Nei Jing which includes the Ling Shu and Su Wen, the Nan Jing, and the Qian Jin Yao Fang or the Thousand Ducat Prescriptions by Sun Si Miao. Additional text selections include the Ben Cao Gang Mu or the Great Pharmacopeia utilizing the Eight Extra channels theory and the study of the Zi Ran Pai or School of Naturalism. The system of assessment and energetic evaluation of energetic imbalances is too, classical in nature. Inner Strength’s curriculum includes Chinese & western herbals and nutritional prescriptions to fully balance post-natal Qi regulation (Food/drink/herbs/supplements + QiGong = post natal Qi). Most importantly, we are taking Energy medicine theory as it has been taught in the west, and returning it to the roots of Classical Chinese Medicine. Prerequisites: This course is offer to Inner Strength graduates holding a Masters in Medical Qigong. It is also open to students/graduates from other schools or systems that hold the equivalent in content and hours as the Masters In Medical Qigong. Those applying from outside schools will need to provide transcripts or proof of hours and curriculum content, and take a entry test to assure they are at the appropriate level for this course. For those who are just beginning their qigong study, we recommend our new Medical Qigong Therapist program that is the entry level training for the serious qigong student.
