For more than 23 years, the Taijiquan Enthusiasts Organization has been organizing, or helping others to organize, Tai Chi and Qigong Festivals and Symposiums. In 2023 we organized the Master Jou Birthday Celebration and Tai Chi Festival in Warwick New York, and it was a fantastic success! We liked the venue so much, we are moving from our normal Maris Stella Retreat Center in Harvey Cedars, NJ to the Warwick NY Mt. Lake Park from now on. And, of course, we will be expanding the event. We will be holding it from June 26 to June 30, 2025. and it will also be accessible as a hybrid event (portions online available everywhere via zoom). Included in the Festival will be intensives (half day or all day workshops) held by top Tai Chi and Qigong Leaders on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Then, on Friday, we will hold the Chang San-Feng Legacy Panels. This series of panels will allow students of several Great Grand Masters (such as Jou, Tsung-Hwa; Cheng, Man-ch'ing; B.P. Chan; Effie Chow; and Steve Higgins) to share the legacy of their teacher with a wider audience. Panels are already full for 2025, but contact us if you have an idea for a panel next year - we already have several great teachers we plan to honor next year. Contact Jeff Devlin at Festival@TaiChiFest.org for further information.
Summer is the time of maximum outwardly expression of yang energy. The scent of flowers fills the air. Having unfurled from tight buds during spring, bright green leaves cover the canopies of trees, maximizing the surface area available to harvest life-giving energy from the sun. Transformed into sugars, trees transport sun’s energy into their roots, to nourish the roots and to re-build energetic stores that will sustain the trees through the winter and fuel next spring’s growth. Being part of nature, we too can come into harmonious relationship with the cycles of the seasons. Sensing the energies of the cycles from within our bodies, we too can transform the energy of summer into deep nourishment that will sustain us. This workshop is a shared enquiry into nature’s energies and transformations through breath awareness, Qigong, and restorative yoga. Our slow-paced time together will include space for reflection and sharing of experience. I am inviting you to offer yourselves time for self-care: to relax and receive the warmth of summer, allowing it to nourish your deep energies.
What is Qigong? How do we work with Qi (energy)? What role do the body, the mind and the breath play in Qigong practice? Let’s explore these questions in this foundational course about Qigong, an energy cultivation practice originating from ancient China. Each week, we will focus on one aspect or principle of practice. We will first explore this aspect in our body, learning to develop greater skill with our energy. Then, we will apply our discoveries as we move through a full, balanced Qigong practice set. Returning to the same set each week and layering our learnings will gradually deepen our practice to receive more of its benefits. All practices in this course are accessible from standing or seated positions. They can also be practiced intentionally (visualizing the movement while the body remains in physical stillness). The format of the course will support you in developing a consistent Qigong practice that you will be able to carry forward after the course ends. While our live sessions will not be recorded, I will provide a follow-along video of the movement set that you can practice along with in between our meetings. I invite you to join in on this journey, whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner wishing to circle back to the basics. Live meetings (online via zoom) : Sundays 16:00 -17:00 UTC (August 31st – October 12th, 2025) Investment : Early-bird (register by 31.7.2025): 160 USD Full price (from 1.8.2025): 200 USD To register for the course, please email contact@marketafoley.com

Learn Qigong practices that work with the three main states of energy (Wuji, Taiji, and Wuxing). We will explore the felt sense of these energies in our bodies as well as how they can support us in our Qigong practice and daily life. Specific Qigong practices you will learn in this course: Wuji Moving Set (from Long White Cloud Qigong): clearing habitual patterns from your body and heart-mind, resetting your energy to its original state Alternate Nostril Breathing : establishing a healthy balance between opposites (yin and yang) Five Waves : harmonizing energy flow through the natural, rhythmic cycles of our days and lives The closed-format style of the course will allow you to feel the benefits of consistent practice. We will revisit the same forms each week, refining our technique and taking us deeper into the practice to receive more of its benefits. We will meet together for 1-hour live sessions on zoom once a week (on Sundays). Our live sessions will not be recorded, but I will provide follow-along videos of the forms that you can practice with in between our meetings. At the end of the course, you will have the skills to incorporate the forms into your own practice, should you wish to do so. Live meetings (online via zoom) : Sundays 16:00 -17:00 UTC (October 26th – November 30th, 2025; no class on November 23rd) Investment : Early-bird (register by 26.9.2025): 116 USD Full price (from 27.9.2025): 145 USD To register for the course, please email contact@marketafoley.com.
The Doctorate in Medical Qigong is an accumulation of ancient shamanic and postmodern energetic practices utilized to improve health of body, mind and spirit. It includes the meditation and energy work of the human body sometimes called Study of Communicative Qi. This program continues to deeply explore the foundational principals of all Classical Chinese Medicine (pre-TCM), what healing truly is and the bedrock of how all communication occurs between the physical (Jing) and Spiritual (Shen) realms. Students will develop an advanced understanding of the body’s energetic relationship to the physical structure, including mental and emotional disorders, as well as spiritual issues that can lead to disease formation. Students at this level will choose a specific disorder or condition for their doctoral thesis, as they continue to study deeply in Dao Yin qigong for oncology and inflammation. Graduates are tested and all conditions of the program completed in order to receive their diploma.
Inner Strength’s curriculum is the longing continuously running program while simultaneously providing the most technologically advanced energetic healing system available for study in the 21st century. Curriculum: In addition to the robust classical Medical / Clinical QiGong system, we will be including Herbology as an adjunct to the Medical QiGong prescriptions for various imbalances PLUS medicinal food for rebalancing pathology. These three modalities provide the most powerful combination of healing available. Classical Medical QiGong consists of the oral traditions of Taoism and Buddhism as well as the inclusion of several key texts of healing. The Inner Strength curriculum includes the study of the classic books: The Huangdi Nei Jing which includes the Ling Shu and Su Wen, the Nan Jing, and the Qian Jin Yao Fang or the Thousand Ducat Prescriptions by Sun Si Miao. Additional text selections include the Ben Cao Gang Mu or the Great Pharmacopeia utilizing the Eight Extra channels theory and the study of the Zi Ran Pai or School of Naturalism. The system of assessment and energetic evaluation of energetic imbalances is too, classical in nature. Inner Strength’s curriculum includes Chinese & western herbals and nutritional prescriptions to fully balance post-natal Qi regulation (Food/drink/herbs/supplements + QiGong = post natal Qi). Most importantly, we are taking Energy medicine theory as it has been taught in the west, and returning it to the roots of Classical Chinese Medicine. Prerequisites: This course is offer to Inner Strength graduates holding a Masters in Medical Qigong. It is also open to students/graduates from other schools or systems that hold the equivalent in content and hours as the Masters In Medical Qigong. Those applying from outside schools will need to provide transcripts or proof of hours and curriculum content, and take a entry test to assure they are at the appropriate level for this course. For those who are just beginning their qigong study, we recommend our new Medical Qigong Therapist program that is the entry level training for the serious qigong student.
