In this episode, Sharon joins us from Crestone, Colorado, often called the “Shambhala of the Rockies,” a unique spiritual hub home to temples from traditions around the world. She shares the story of how her journey into Qigong began through filmmaking, ultimately leading to her long-term project, Quantum Qi.

What started as an interview exploring concepts like the rainbow body and light body evolved into a much deeper immersion after Sharon attended a gathering at Eastover Estate, where she encountered numerous respected Qigong teachers and early members of the National Qigong Association. Deeply moved by their generosity, embodiment of practice, and lived understanding of Daoist teachings, she realized Qigong was not simply a technique but a way of life.

Drawing on her background in yoga, somatic science, and mind-body education, Sharon describes how these experiences reshaped her work and purpose. Over seven years, including interruptions caused by COVID, she committed to bringing Qigong teachings to a global audience through film, education, and outreach, with a particular emphasis on children and public health.

She explains key themes explored in Quantum Qi, including the Qi matrix, flow, protection, the chi field, meridians, and emotional patterns, brought to life through engaging animation. A central message of the film is that Qigong is the foundational practice underlying martial arts and many mind-body traditions, with a strong emphasis on its self-healing qualities.

The conversation closes with appreciation for the film’s educational value and its potential historical significance, highlighting Qigong as an accessible and empowering path for people seeking greater vitality and agency in their health.
