This practice explores principles of Qi perception, known in Chinese as Qi Gan, through the movements of Taiji Qigong Shibashi Set 1. Rather than focusing on a fixed method, the session emphasizes developing awareness of Qi sensations and using them as a form of internal feedback to improve posture, relaxation, and meditative presence.
Participants will begin with simple Qi perception exercises using the palms before carrying those sensations into the opening movement of Taiji Qigong Shibashi, “Beginning the Form and Regulating the Breath.” Additional movements may also be introduced to help expand and deepen Qi awareness in different contexts.
This practice may help cultivate a deeper meditative state, improve postural alignment, and enhance the overall benefits of movement through increased internal awareness.
