Professor Spencer Gee takes on a multi-sensory approach to teaching Tai Chi and Qigong. Having worked with all levels of skilled practitioners over several decades, Professor Gee discovered that by using various training aids, the experience of learning Tai Chi and Qigong came to life and transformed from being a trivial exercise workout to a vibrant and opulent experience that included storytelling, fitness training, and movements that closely resembled physical and occupational therapy.
By using exercise equipment found in fitness centers, as well as tools used by therapists in varying fields for rehabilitation and recuperation the results are amplified because the students are transported to an immersion where working out becomes play, and fun replaces the tedious boredom usually associated with exercise and therapy. Even plush toy animals help to bring to life abstract concepts such as “Grasp the Sparrow’s Tail” or “Carry Tiger”.
Tai Chi Toolbox offers a unique and innovative approach for practitioners of all levels to explore and rediscover the joy of learning and playing Tai Chi and Qigong.
