Tai Chi for Kids

Qigong and Tai Chi are perfect for every age. We often think of it primarily for adults, but I have been doing simplified moves based on Qigong with children of all ages for 25 years. After studying in China and consulting with teachers there about the best way to approach children I developed a program called Tai Chi for Kids©.

Kids of all ages love it. Preschool kids relate very well to the imagery. They can fly! Elementary school kids tell me they love to be elephants because they had never been to Africa before. High school kids tell me their grades went up because they learned to focus better.  And adults (we are kids, too, of course) say a few minutes of Tai Chi for Kids makes the whole day feel better.

The imagery and visualization are very powerful. Kids tell me -

  • I felt like I was really flying. It was wonderful. I could see the houses down below.
  • I am going to do it everyday so I don't get tummy aches.
  • I showed my mom and dad how to do it. They like it, too.
  • I like to sleep with an energy ball.  It helps we fall asleep better.

When we realize that, right now, the greatest increase in use of prescription medicine for anxiety and depression is among elementary school aged children we know we need to do something. Tai Chi for Kids can be answers. We will all about how the moves work on the body to help us feel better.

  • You can do it alone, or as a family.
  • You can outside next to a tree, or in the house.
  • You can do 5 minutes of 25 minutes.
  • You can do what works for you in your busy life.
