The Five Spirits: Descending Kunlun Mountain

Brian Cook

The Kunlun Mountains are referred to as the "spine of the world" or the "dragon's spine" due to their unique geological formations and their significance in Chinese mythology. These formations have fueled legends of a sacred realm, a gateway between heaven and earth. Brian will refer to the singular Kunlun Mountain, one of 228 peaks in the Kunlun Range.  The Wu Shen are Five Spirits that correspond to the Five Elements and the Five Yin organs of the body. Each element, therefor each Spirit, is associated with an emotion. The Five Spirits provide another perspective as we explore the human psyche: the peaks and valleys of our own life experiences.
